GLUTEN FREE PLAYDOUGH RECIPES
OBJECTIVE: Gluten Free Mama recognizes that playdough is an essential part of Sunday school, preschool, and kindergarten programs. The objective is to give children practice in fine motor and social skills and to encourage creativity. I know how hard it is to watch your child have to sit out on an activity like this at school just because it isn’t safe for them to touch or play with. Listed here are several gluten free alternatives for playdough. I like to package them up into Ziploc bags and supply them for my daughters Sunday school Class or preschool class. I kindly offer to make the playdough and ask the teachers to please use it in place of the regular playdough for all children; that way everyone gets to be involved.

GOOP! -
Gluten Free--
This can be a SCIENCE and SENSORY PROJECT IF YOU INCLUDE THE KIDS
OBJECTIVE: Give children practice with social skills by taking turns adding ingredients and mixing ingredients with their hands. Gives children practice with strengthening fine motor skills by squishing the goop. Gives children a sensory experience by feeling the slimy texture. This activity gives children an opportunity to experience science by watching how mixing the 3 ingredients together makes goop.
2 cups Elmer’s Glue
2 cups plus 2/3 cup water
2 Tablespoons Borax Powder
Liquid Watercolor from Discount School Supply or food coloring
Mix together 2 cups Elmer’s Glue and 2 cups water. In separate cup dissolve 2 T. Borax in the 2/3 cup water. Pour half of mixture into glue mixture and mix with hands. Let the children each take turns putting their hands in the mixture and squishing it. Add rest of water/borax mixture and mix again. Let each child bring a portion home with them in a Ziploc bag. |
